ERAC/CE
(Eliminating Racism and Claiming/Celebrating Equality) is a
Kalamazoo-area ecumenical group whose vision is the
elimination of racism in southwest Michigan. |
Currently,
the principle effort of ERAC/CE is to offer anti-racism
training in our community by working with two nationally and
internationally recognized and respected organizations:
People's Institute for Survival and Beyond, from New Orleans,
and Crossroads Ministry, from Chicago.
The People's Institute training applies the analysis to
grassroots
organizing strategies while Crossroads Ministry training
applies the same analysis to strategies of institutional
change. In both cases, the initial training is for 2-1/2 days
and is designed to help participants recognize, understand and
analyze systemic racism. It is hoped that as participants
return to the organizations and institutions they represent,
many will initiate further anti-racism efforts and training. |
