When you click on the "Insert Image" button this box will appear on your screen. The following steps allows you to upload, insert and list pictures / images in your website:

1. First you will need to upload the picture before you can insert it into your webpage. Simply click on the "Upload" button to browse your computer and select the picture / image you wish to upload from the files on your hard drive.

2. Once you select the picture / image you are uploading you will see a dialog box with a field called "Note". This allows you to name that image for your website. Once you name it you can click on the "Press" button to upload the picture / image to your website's directory. Please note that the following necessary in order to have the system recognize the file your are uploading.

All file names must be in lower case and no spaces in the names. Here are some examples:
Wrong:    my picture           MyPicture.jpg             mypicture.JPG
Right:      my_picture.jpg     mypicture.jpg              my-picture.jpg

In the Note field , as mentioned in # 2, you can name the file or image whatever you wish without the .jpg or .gif extension. This is just a notation and not a file name.

Images should be small in physical size and under 100k in data size. The ideal size would be around 24 to 70 kb. or less if possible. A good physical is no larger that a standard photograph on the high side. Ideally it should not exceed approximately 250 to 300 pixels.
It is also a good ideal to use thumbnails which could be around 100 to 150 pixels in size.
You can then link the thumbnail image to the larger image.
Acceptable image formats are .jpg and .gif. Other formats for video and audio such as .mpg, .avi, .wav and .mid are acceptable. If these files are not recognized on your site please let us know.

3. Adding the pictures to the page in the editor. Simply click on the "Insert Image" button again. You will want to click on the "Align" box and then select how you want to align the picture you are about to insert. Note: It may be best to select "middle" simply because it centers the image in the center of the field.
If you have a group of images on top of each other and want them to be aligned on the left then select align left to achieve this and so on.

4. Now you are ready to select and insert the image / picture you have uploaded. Simply select the image from the selection pull-down box and click on the "Insert" button to add the picture to the page. If you wish you can add a short sentence in the "Alt Text" field to give your graphic an extra description to the viewer on the web. Try it!

5. The next step is to click on the "Refresh Page" button at the bottom of the page to see the image on the page. If it is what you want and you are happy with the way it looks then you can move on to step 6. Or you can continue on and add additional images and text etc. until you are finished with the page.

6. The final step. Save your work to the web. To do this simply click on the "Update Site" button at the bottom and it is now live on the web.
