FAQ SUPPORT Q How do you handle customer support? A We request all support issues to be submitted in writing via e-mail. Support requests may be submitted 24 hours a day / 7 days a week. E-mail support is covered 24 hours a day. Q How long does it take to get my questions answered? A Most support issues are answered within 12hours. In the event that your request will take longer, you will at least be notified within 24 hours. DOMAIN NAME (FAQ) Q I have previously registered a domain name with another company, can I host that domain with Live Web Host, Inc? A Yes, you can, provided you are the legal owner of the domain. Some companies charge a fee for hosting the domain with other companies. All you have to do is to change the following details of your domain name to: Primary Name Server: dns2.dns-serv.com ip address is 208.195.14.242 Secondary Name Server: dns1.dns-serv.com ip address is 208.195.14.241 Until the above changes are made to your domain name records, your domain name will still be pointing to the your previous site. Q I have changed the details of my domain name to as shown above but it is still pointing to my old site. A Until InterNic shows that your details have been changed (which takes between 24 to 48 hours), your domain name will continue to point to your old site. Q Can you host .tv domains? A Yes. We can now host any domain extension (e.g. .tv, .ws, .ca, and .co.uk) Full Hosting Account FULL HOSTING ACCOUNTS Q What is the URL and FTP address of my domain? A A "catch-all" email account is automatically setup for each of your domain such that all emails to XXX@YourDomain.com will be forwarded to your current email address. Q But can I setup POP3 emails? A You can setup POP3 email accounts using the control panel. POP3 Server: Mail.YourDomain.com User Name: (POP3 email address e.g. XXX@YourDomain.com) Password: As setup Q How many domains can I host? A Your account can host up to 2 domains. You can host more than 2 domains by purchasing extra domain hosting. Script Q How do I use ASP? A To use ASP name your files .asp. Q How do I use PHP? A To use PHP name your files .php. Q How do I use ColdFusion? A To use ColdFusion name your files .cfm. Q How do I use PERL/CGI? A To use CGI name your files .pl or .cgi. Q How do I administer my My-SQL Database? A Upon setup of your My SQL db we install PHPMYADMIN on your web site. You will be able to access it using yourdomain.com/phpadmin. Administration can also be done via your My SQL application if applicable. Q How much space is included for my My-SQL Database? A We do not have any active space policies or restrictions. Should your space usage grow to an unreasonable amount an administrator may contact you with further options to ensure proper performance and future needs for your application. Q How do I administer my MS-SQL Database? A You will need Microsoft Management Console or sql admin to administer your MS SQL db. Administration can also be done via your MS SQL application if applicable. Q How much space is included for my MS-SQL Database? A We do not have any active space policies or restrictions. Should your space usage grow to an unreasonable amount an administrator may contact you with further options to ensure proper performance and future needs for your application. Q How do I administer my ODBC Database? A ODBC db's are created and managed on your computer via such programs like MS ACCESS, EXCEL etc... Administration can also be done via your ODBC db application if applicable. Q How much space is included for my ODBC Database? A ODBC databases are limited by your amount of allocated space included with your account package and quota. Q How do I use DSN ODBC connection? A Customer can use a DSN-LESS connection or we can create a SYSTEM DSN upon request. We recommend using a DSN-LESS connection for performance and ease of management. Q Would you register a custom component or a component that I bought from a reputable software vendor? A No. Q Do you provide any script debugging support? A No. |
